Healing Together
Randy & Candace Mefford
I first learned about Reboot through Candace, who discovered the program about four
years ago and began attending without me. When her course ended, she invited
me to her graduation ceremony. Based on everything she had shared with me during those weeks—and what I experienced at that event—I knew I had to sign up for the next available class. I’ve never once regretted that decision.
As a retired military member, I had forgotten just how powerful it is to be part of a community. I hadn’t realized how emotionally isolated I’d become or how much I missed being around people who understood - people who had faced similar experiences, traumas, and triumphs. Reboot gave me that sense of belonging again. It reminded me that healing is possible and that we’re never meant to go through it alone.
What truly stood out to me was how the faith-based foundation of Reboot deepened my walk with God and revived my spiritual life. I learned the life-changing power of forgiveness—and how freeing it feels to finally release the heavy burden of suppressed anger,
bitterness, and pain.
Candace has now completed Reboot four times and has taken on the meaningful role of Facilitator and Mentor in the weekly classes. I’ve also joined the Leadership Team and am preparing to mentor and facilitate future Reboot Military Trauma classes. It’s been a privilege to give back in a way that supports others on their healing journeys.
Together, Candace and I have grown in our ability to communicate more openly and to support each other in processing the lingering effects of past trauma. Reboot has helped us develop healthier ways of sharing and connecting—both as individuals and as a couple.
If you’re struggling with emotional wounds from military service or trauma and you’re looking for a faith-based path to healing, I wholeheartedly recommend Reboot. It’s a life-changing experience that can bring light into even the darkest places.
