Discipleship in Action

One of the greatest blessings in our AWANA ministry is witnessing the Body of Christ—young and old—working together to disciple one another and grow in faith. Each week, our Leaders in Training (LITs) step up to serve, realizing the profound impact they can have in leading younger children to Christ. Whether they’re assisting during game time, helping kids memorize Scripture, or explaining the meaning of God’s Word, these middle and high school students are developing into godly leaders. They aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow—they are the leaders of today!

Yet, AWANA wouldn’t be possible without the faithful adults who come alongside them, modeling what it means to serve the Lord. Volunteers like Bob and his wife, Pam, as well as Sue and Teresa, give their time not because they have children in the program, but because they have a heart for investing in the next generation. Bob and Pam serve with unwavering dedication, leading well and making a lasting impact on both the children and the LITs they mentor. Their example beautifully illustrates the power of different generations serving together in ministry—and how couples who serve side by side can glorify God in a special way.

AWANA is more than just games and Bible verses—it’s discipleship in action. As younger and older believers invest in one another, we see the Church as God designed it: a family growing in faith, serving with joy, and loving kids to Jesus.
