Leilani's Story

Leilani Chavez and her kids have been involved at LC3's Agape Co-op. Read part of her story!

I am so grateful to God for His many blessings and support – in this season and in every season of my life. He has answered many prayers, including bringing me to LC3 and the Agape Co-op. While my husband was deployed my family had some health scares and the ladies who faithfully run Agape were such a lifeline. They have become my friends and provided support outside the classroom. I’m excited to have learned different parenting methods and ways to raise my children to love Jesus through conversation and watching these amazing mamas take dominion. I find peace in Paul’s words, “‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

I have such curiosity for building a relationship with Christ Jesus our King! It has been a true blessing that my children follow Jesus; fellowship with my children is a treat! At Agape there are so many kids with whom to talk about Jesus and it’s inspiring to see them learn so quickly. Jewels said: “We bathe everything in prayer” - and that’s a refreshing take on starting a class. As parents, my husband and I love that our kids are socializing in an environment that is safe for the soul and body.

Proverbs says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from the instructions of the Lord.” Agape Co-op has helped me to live out this Word from our Lord. I ask humbly for prayer for my husband and for my children and other mothers training their children in the ways of the Lord. One of my favorite aspects of the Agape Co-op is that each of us teachers are at a different level in our knowledge of scripture and parenting, but there is a space for everyone who has ears to hear. I look forward to another great year at Agape Co-op next fall as we rely on God’s faithfulness. The Lord bless you all, Brothers and Sisters. If Jesus isn’t your savior, I pray places like Agape Co-op would be a gentle path to learn the ways of Jesus Christ.

“But whoever drinks of the water I give them will never be thirsty again. The water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” - John 4:14
