Discover how to use your gifts through one of LC3's most creative and fun teams;
The Worship Arts Team! The Band is an auditioned group of players who
rehearse together and provide music on a rotating basis for all weekend services.
Music is an important part of weekend worship experience, and the band is partly responsible for helping bring this experience to life. The Band is mostly made up of guitars, keyboards, bass, and drums, but is open to experienced musicians of all styles and instruments, including rock, classical and jazz instrumentalists. If you would like to audition or have questions, please contact our Worship Arts Pastor, Mark Wilkening, at 253-582-8040.
Who gets involved with the LC3 Band?
The people who are involved with the Band are interested in attending LC3 on a regular basis. They feel gifted and want to use their talents to serve our church, and they have a servant’s heart, ready and willing to serve where needed.
Band members serve primarily at the weekend services.
Do I have to be a member of LC3 to join?
You do not have to be a member in order to join. However, by joining the Worship Arts Team, it is our hope
that you will decide to make the commitment to go through the Membership Class
as soon as possible and officially join The LC3 family.
Will I be asked to play every week?
No. We try to be very conscious of your schedule and will coordinate with your calendar and availability.
We will create a schedule in January, (for February-May) May (for June-September), and September (for October-January) according to your availability and the rhythm of how often you would like to serve.
You are required to attend Saturday afternoon rehearsals only if you are playing that weekend. Likewise, you are asked to be a regular attendee at one of our weekend services, even if you are not playing.
When are rehearsals and how long do they last?
Rehearsals are on Saturdays at 2:45 PM. Rehearsals last approximately 2 hours, depending on what needs to be accomplished. We usually put together 4-5 songs each week, so it takes some time to get everything just right. We break for light refreshments before playing through all the songs with the vocalists. Saturday night service starts at 6 PM and ends around 7:10 PM. Sound check for Sunday is at 8:20 AM with services at 9:15 & 11 AM. The last service ends around 12:10 PM. Everyone is expected to know the music completely when you arrive for rehearsal. Music will be sent out approximately 7 days in advance of the weekend you serve.
What do I need to do to audition?
Sign-up to audition by contacting Pastor Mark Wilkening (253-582-8040).
