Worship Arts

The Worship Arts Ministry,

under the influence of the Holy Spirit,
exists for the glory of God

by directing people to His Son, Jesus Christ.
This work is accomplished through an array of

artistic expressions that God has so generously entrusted to us;

that we might graciously and skillfully serve His purposes

through the church and in the world.

Our passion

At Lake City, worship is more than a song we sing or event we attend.

Worship is our response to God, for who He is, what He is doing;

expressed in and by the things that we say and the ways that we live.

That's why we like to say that our ministry is about "bringing worship to life".

Not only will we seek to love God in our corporate gatherings
and weekend services, but in every moment of every day.

Band Auditions

Discover how to use your gifts through one of LC3's most creative and fun teams;

The Worship Arts Team!  The Band is an auditioned group of players who

rehearse together and provide music on a rotating basis for all weekend services.

Music is an important part of weekend worship experience, and the band is partly responsible for helping bring this experience to life. The Band is mostly made up of guitars, keyboards, bass, and drums, but is open to experienced musicians of all styles and instruments, including rock, classical and jazz instrumentalists. If you would like to audition or have questions, please contact our Worship Arts Pastor, Mark Wilkening, at 253-582-8040.

Who gets involved with the LC3 Band?

The people who are involved with the Band are interested in attending LC3 on a regular basis. They feel gifted and want to use their talents to serve our church, and they have a servant’s heart, ready and willing to serve where needed.
Band members serve primarily at the weekend services.

Do I have to be a member of LC3 to join?

You do not have to be a member in order to join. However, by joining the Worship Arts Team, it is our hope

that you will decide to make the commitment to go through the Membership Class
as soon as possible and officially join The LC3 family.

Will I be asked to play every week?

No. We try to be very conscious of your schedule and will coordinate with your calendar and availability.
We will create a schedule in January, (for February-May) May (for June-September), and September (for October-January) according to your availability and the rhythm of how often you would like to serve.

You are required to attend Saturday afternoon rehearsals only if you are playing that weekend. Likewise, you are asked to be a regular attendee at one of our weekend services, even if you are not playing.

When are rehearsals and how long do they last?

Rehearsals are on Saturdays at 2:45 PM. Rehearsals last approximately 2 hours, depending on what needs to be accomplished. We usually put together 4-5 songs each week, so it takes some time to get everything just right. We break for light refreshments before playing through all the songs with the vocalists. Saturday night service starts at 6 PM and ends around 7:10 PM.  Sound check for Sunday is at 8:20 AM with services at 9:15 & 11 AM.  The last service ends around 12:10 PM. Everyone is expected to know the music completely when you arrive for rehearsal. Music will be sent out approximately 7 days in advance of the weekend you serve.

What do I need to do to audition?

  Sign-up to audition by contacting Pastor Mark Wilkening (253-582-8040).

  • Mark Wilkening / Worship Arts Pastor

    It's been my joy to serve at Lake City for the last 15 years. My passion is to see worship expressed as a 24/7 lifestyle. In addition to leading others to encounter the greatness of God, I'm blessed to serve with a Creative Arts Team that incorporates the Fine, Technical, Graphic, Theater and Video art forms into ministry.

    In addition, my wife, Kelsey, and I have been blessed to guide Lake City’s response to the orphan crisis by creating the The Father’s Heart; a ministry to the orphan and foster child and those who care for them.

    Kelsey and I are grateful to share this life with our three children; Markus (15), Halle (13) and Zavion (13).  If you are interested in serving with the Worship Arts Team or finding out more info., please email me by clicking here.
